Dr. Burnett, who made history as the first African American full professor in the Department of Urology at Johns Hopkins, emphasized mentorship and the need for greater diversity in medicine.
On the Growth, Grace and Gratitude podcast, Dr. Burnett expanded the conversation to include men’s and boys’ health advocacy, whole-person care, and breaking stigma around sexual health.
“We should think more broadly about a man as a person in a holistic way,” he noted. “Sexual dysfunction and general health issues should be addressed in a biopsychosocial and cultural context.”
